Behind closed doors in the football office, when all the football players have went home for a long summer there is still plenty of work that still needs done. During the summer is when we take care of recruiting, recruit mail, highlight film, organizing the schedule, or even running a football camp for the youth. The summer is just as busy working as during the school year, but it is my job as a football operations internship to help lend a hand with the work and gain some experience on what it is like to work in the football office.

I never knew of all the work that needed to be completed until I met with one of my mentors Chari Mullen. When I would usually walk her office to go into football meetings it did not look like there was much work being done but I have learned there is always work to be done. I understand how overwhelming the job can be by the amount of work and errands that need to be taken care of so I never mind doing any favors that anyone asked me to do in the office because it is a very busy environment.

All the work done over the summer is to prepare for the 11 games of the football season which ranges from recruiting to recording data, tracking film, and even calling players to give them an update with everything. Having food and drinks there is good because working at a computer screen all day can make you tired and make you lose some focus. I would usually bring 2 to 3 snacks and something to drink for the long day ahead of me
